I get asked a lot why I wear a mask indoors when I look like I'm at home.
Or why I take model photos in a mask when I'm in spaces where thats unnecessary.
Why does it matter to you what I wear in my home or when I'm alone?
I rarely leave my home in general. And when I do, I'm always masked up.
Wearing a mask gives me a lot of anxiety.
2-3 years ago, I could have it on for maybe 30-45 mins before the anxiety kicks in, the sweats start coming and panic starts to set in. At which point I usually needed to go outside to a safe area, and take it off for a bit to catch my breath.
(The amount of Ativan I had to take just to keep up appearances during my markets was profound. The amount of time I spent throwing up in the bathroom before and during markets was disgusting. )
I wear my mask when I'm at home alone to continue to work on my tolerance for mask wearing. To help me reduce my anxiety around my breathing and how my body reacts to wearing a mask.
The future we are heading to will require all of us to adapt to wearing well fitted respirators. There is no future we are heading towards where respirators will not be necessary for your self preservation and the survival of the human race.
Wearing a mask doesn't come naturally or easy to me.
But practice makes easier.
To everyone still fighting the good fight. Keep on keeping on.
