GMSpotlight - Chic N Custom

In an effort to help out businesses all across Canada. I'm hoping to feature businesses all across the country in blog posts highlighting how they got started and how the pandemic has affected them!

Today we have:

Chic N Custom

A little Chic N a lot Custom designs by Natasha. Specializing in Scroll Saw Art and Home Decor

Where is your business based out of?

Oakville, Ontario!

Why did you start your business?

I’ve always been a very creative person who was always experimenting with different mediums and art forms. During the pandemic, I found myself searching for something that was just for me.

Although I was very intimidated, I bought my first scroll saw and some tools and got to work!

The maker community via Instagram were my biggest cheerleaders and motivators. They probably do not realize but I would not have been able to do this without them!

Now, I find myself more comfortable in creating more complex pieces and pieces that reflect my style.

How was the pandemic affected your business?

The pandemic was my push to start this business! I finally had the downtime to really think about how I could creatively express myself in a way that speaks not only to myself but to others as well.

Had it not been for the unfortunate lockdowns, I don’t know if I would have ever listened to that voice inside telling me that I could do it!
